Getting to Bucharest
You can travel directly by plane via Henri Coandă International Airport, situated 20 km from the city in Otopeni.
STB (Bucharest’s public transport company) operates 2 public bus lines from the Airport: 780 heading to North Train Station (Gara de Nord) and 783 heading to the city centre (Piata Unirii) making various stops along the way. Both leave from the ground floor outside the terminal building (international arrivals is on the 1st floor) every 40 min on a regular daily schedule and the trip takes 40 min to one hour. The ticket fare is 1 euro.
Getting a taxi from Bucharest Airport to the city centre is quicker, very convenient and reasonably cheap (45 - 70 Lei or 10 - 15 Euro) on the standard fare.
