Esteban
My name is Esteban Rua. I'm Colombian, but I come from Panama. I am currently in the first semester of the E-PiCo+ program in Centrale Nantes, France.
How did you discover E-Pico+ and why did you apply ?
I discovered E-PiCo+ while looking through electrical engineering programs in the Erasmus Mundus catalog. I applied to this specific program because I was immediately drawn to the subjects it offers, and I was looking for new challenges to advance my professional career.
What was your feeling when receiving E-PiCo+ admission?
I was extremely happy and proud. It felt like recognition for my previous work and a big opportunity to grow academically and professionally.
Some words on the preparation of your journey and travel
I prepared by organizing my documents, arranging accommodation, and familiarizing myself with Nantes and French culture in advance. I also packed essentials for winter and daily life.
Your arrival in France
Arriving in France was exciting and a bit overwhelming. Nantes is a beautiful city with a calm atmosphere, clean streets, and friendly people. Good thing about my first week: Meeting other students from around the world and starting the first courses was very motivating. The campus and facilities are also impressive and well organized. Bad thing about my first week: Adapting to new routines, transportation, and the language barrier was challenging at first, but also encouraging, as it pushed me to become more independent and resourceful.

Impressions on your first steps on campus
The campus is modern and well-equipped. It has a very international and welcoming environment. The program is highly specialized and challenging, but very rewarding. The combination of theory, practical labs, and international exposure is exactly what I was looking for. Classes are demanding but very engaging. Professors are approachable, and the content is directly related to the latest industry and research trends. The workload is significant, but well-organized. Time management is essential for success.
