Steven
My name is Steven, and I'm an E-PiCo graduate from the 2021–2023 cohort. My mobility journey took me to France, Germany, and Romania. After graduation, I joined NI (National Instruments) through their Graduate Leadership Accelerator Program - a two-year rotational program across four departments designed to develop future leaders. During my two years in E-PiCo, I gained in-depth knowledge about electric vehicles and control, but also much more: I met inspiring people, built lifelong friendships, and sharpened my soft skills such as time management and working under pressure.
Starting this September 2025, I’ll be transitioning into a Technical Support Engineer role at NI. In this position, I’ll be supporting customers with complex technical challenges, helping them make the most of our software, and teaching courses. I can confidently say that E-PiCo prepared me well for this step, especially by equipping me to thrive in culturally diverse environments.
On an educational level, the program was mainly control oriented, and I had little to no experience on control from my Bachelor’s degree. On a personal level, once getting used to a city, we had to leave to move to the other.
Always plan ahead. Plan in advance in good time for visas, accommodation, looking for jobs or opportunities and everything else. It makes a difference.
Anything to add?
I’m currently giving back to the community as a Programme Coordinator for E-PiCo within the Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA).
